Turkish and Azerbaijani business leaders plan to expand their activities in the Kurdistan Region as Erbil prepares to host a new economic forum next month.
The forum aims to strengthen trade relations and support growth across several sectors. Business representatives from Turkey, Azerbaijan and the Kurdistan Region will take part.
Gaylan Haji Saeed, head of the Kurdistan Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said Prime Minister Masrour Barzani will attend the event in Erbil.
Saeed said Turkish and Azerbaijani traders will meet local businesspeople during the forum. They will discuss ways to expand commercial ties and identify new opportunities for cooperation.
Participants will also examine how to increase trade between the Kurdistan Region and both countries.
Organizers want companies to explore investment opportunities, private-sector partnerships and new projects. They also hope local firms can build stronger links with regional investors.
Officials expect the meetings to create new agreements and wider access to markets.
Turkey already holds an important position in the Kurdistan Region’s trade network. Economic relations with Azerbaijan have also grown in recent years.
Business leaders want the forum to build on those ties. They also hope more Turkish and Azerbaijani companies will enter the Kurdistan Region’s market.
The event will give traders a chance to exchange information and discuss barriers affecting business activity. It will also allow companies to present investment plans and explore possible joint ventures.
Officials believe closer cooperation with Turkey and Azerbaijan can support private-sector growth. They also see stronger regional trade as a way to attract investment and create new economic opportunities.
The forum will take place in Erbil next month. Organizers plan to announce further details before the event begins.
The discussions will focus on practical steps that help businesses expand operations, form partnerships and strengthen long-term commercial cooperation across wider regional markets.
