In his recent speech, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani emphasized the critical importance of digital government excellence in fostering investment, boosting economic growth, attracting skilled talent, and ensuring a secure and resilient future for the citizens of Kurdistan.

Prime Minister Barzani stated that the pursuit of digital excellence is not merely an end goal, but a continuous effort to engage citizens effectively and deliver public services in ways that meet their evolving needs. He underscored the role of technology as the key enabler in streamlining government service delivery and transforming the mindset of government institutions to become more focused on citizens and businesses.

The digital transformation strategy, as outlined by the Prime Minister, aims to enhance citizens’ and businesses’ access to public services, streamline government structures, and improve internal processes. The ultimate goal is to ensure that government services are easily accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.

A central priority at the outset of the 9th Cabinet was to empower the Department of Information Technology with the authority and resources necessary to lead and execute Kurdistan’s digital transformation. Prime Minister Barzani reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the strategy and emphasized that its successful implementation remains a key focus of his government.

He commended the Department of Information Technology for its pivotal role in driving the digital transformation and stressed the importance of collective efforts across all agencies of the Kurdistan Regional Government to achieve a comprehensive, whole-of-government digital transformation.
