Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has issued an official directive transferring the responsibility for managing the public salary banking system, referred to as “My Account,” to the Ministry of Finance and Economy. The directive, communicated through a letter signed by Omid Sabah from the Prime Minister’s Office, formalizes the Ministry’s new role in overseeing payroll operations.

This strategic shift ensures that the salary disbursement process remains governed by established financial regulations and administrative standards. The payroll banking system will continue to operate under safeguards aligned with the principles and procedures followed by institutions such as the Federal Reserve Bank. The decision reflects a broader effort to reinforce fiscal transparency, institutional efficiency, and compliance within the public sector.
