The Erbil Directorate of Oil and Minerals released a new list of over 1,500 residents from Article 140 areas. These residents can now receive domestic gas. Officials said they resolved earlier problems with gas card access.

Salar Mohammed, head of the inspection committee, said applicants who submitted requests for the Article 140 electronic gas card can now collect gas. They must follow the newly published list.

Authorities recently introduced an electronic card system for household gas distribution. This system improves organization and ensures fair access. However, many families in Article 140 areas faced problems. They did not have gas cards at the beginning.

Salar Mohammed said over 15,000 households initially lacked gas cards. This created serious difficulties in accessing fuel. The directorate responded to this issue. It allowed eligible families to receive gas based on verified needs. Officials continued processing applications at the same time.

He added that officials have registered about 10,000 households so far. The directorate releases names in phases to avoid overcrowding. It does not publish all names at once. The current list includes 1,546 residents. These residents can now collect their gas supplies.

Residents must bring specific documents when visiting the Directorate of Oil and Minerals in Erbil. They need the original food ration form. They also need the original national ID card. In addition, they must bring one A4 copy of both documents. Officials said incomplete documents will cause delays.

The suspension of operations at the Kormor gas field on February 28 caused gas shortages. This disruption increased commercial gas cylinder prices. Prices remain high today. Production has not yet returned to pre-February levels.
