The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has taken a significant step toward expanding its digital economy by signing twelve key international agreements with global companies during the WorldF event at the Istanbul Expo Center. These agreements are part of a broader effort to elevate Kurdistan’s role in the international digital and e-commerce landscape.

The WorldF summit, held over three days in Istanbul, gathered leading names such as Amazon, Alibaba, and eBay. The KRG, represented by the Ministry of Transportation, participated actively in the event to foster long-term partnerships and facilitate technological and commercial exchange.

Among the signed contracts, a major deal was secured with a Saudi company to improve logistics for pilgrims from the Kurdistan Region. The agreement allows pilgrims to order religious items, including Zam Zam water and gifts, which will be delivered directly to their homes with ease and efficiency.

Another impactful agreement supports the agricultural sector in Kurdistan. Local farmers will now have the infrastructure to export high-quality fruits and products to international markets, enhancing economic opportunity and regional visibility.

Looking ahead, the Kurdistan Region is preparing to host a large-scale international digital exhibition in 2026, featuring over 500 global companies and brands, a move that underscores its ambition to become a regional hub for digital commerce and innovation.
