The Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Peshmerga announced today that it will distribute financial aid from international coalition partners to Peshmerga forces.

On April 26, 2026, the ministry confirmed that it received the March funding into its account. It also said that it has completed all financial and accounting procedures. Officials stated that they will begin distributing the funds.

The ministry explained that coalition support helps strengthen and reorganize the Peshmerga forces. It described the assistance as an important part of maintaining coordination and improving operational capacity within the region’s security system.

Officials said the coalition will continue providing support until the end of the year. They added that future funding depends on decisions by the United States and other coalition members. These decisions relate to the role of the Peshmerga and Iraq’s wider security structure.

The ministry also noted uncertainty about whether the support will continue after this period. It said upcoming political and military decisions will determine the future of cooperation.

In previous disbursements, the ministry reported strong participation. For the November 2025 assistance, more than 97% of officers and Peshmerga members received their payments. The authorities delivered the funds through the “My Account” system.

Officials said the system improves transparency and speeds up payment distribution. It also reduces delays and increases direct access to financial support for personnel.

The ministry emphasized that cooperation with coalition partners remains important. It said this partnership supports stability and helps ongoing reforms within the Peshmerga forces.
