The Iraqi Ministry of Finance has completed its review of the Kurdistan Region’s July salary list and approved the documents without raising any objections, according to a senior source in the Iraqi government.

The Kurdistan Regional Government submitted the July payroll list for public employees and pensioners on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. It also delivered the June trial balance report to the accounting department of Iraq’s federal Ministry of Finance.

The senior source said that federal officials had finished examining both documents. The ministry approved the July payroll and the June financial report after finding no errors or missing information.

The source also addressed the expected timing of the salary transfer. Baghdad will first continue paying employees of federal ministries and other government institutions across Iraq. Once that process approaches completion, officials will decide when to release funds for public employees and pensioners in the Kurdistan Region.

According to the source, all current indications suggest that Baghdad will authorize the Kurdistan Region’s July salary payment during the coming week. However, federal authorities have not yet selected or announced a specific day for transferring the money.

The completion of the review removes an important administrative obstacle from the salary process. The federal government can now move to the final financial procedures required before depositing the funds into the account of the KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy.

Employees and pensioners across the Kurdistan Region continue to follow the process closely after repeated delays in monthly payments. The regional government can begin preparing salary distribution only after Baghdad transfers the required funding.

Officials have not announced when the KRG will start paying recipients. The timing will depend on the federal transfer, banking procedures and the regional ministry’s arrangements after it receives the funds. Further details are expected once Baghdad acts.
