The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Electricity has issued a final warning to subscribers, announcing that the deadline for a 20% discount on electricity bill debts will expire at midnight on Tuesday. After this time, citizens must pay their full outstanding balances without any reduction.

Officials confirmed that the discount applies across the entire Kurdistan Region and will end simultaneously in all provinces. The ministry urged residents to act quickly and take advantage of the remaining hours before the offer expires. Authorities emphasized that this is the last opportunity for consumers to benefit from the reduced payment plan.

A source within the Ministry of Electricity explained that anyone who fails to settle their debts before the deadline will lose eligibility for the discount. These customers will then need to repay the total amount owed in full. The ministry encouraged all subscribers with outstanding bills to complete their payments as soon as possible to avoid additional financial pressure.

The initiative formed part of a broader effort to collect overdue payments while easing the burden on citizens. By offering a temporary reduction, the government aimed to support households struggling with accumulated electricity costs. Officials believe the measure helped many residents reduce their debts during the discount period.

The ministry also highlighted the role of the “e-Psula” system, which supports electronic payments and service management. This system represents a key step in the Kurdistan Region’s ongoing push to modernize public services and expand digital infrastructure. Through this platform, users can check balances, pay bills, and access services more efficiently.

Authorities stated that they will continue improving digital solutions to enhance service delivery. However, they stressed that citizens must meet current deadlines and obligations. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a stable electricity system while encouraging timely payments from all users.
