The price of silver climbed above $69 per ounce on Wednesday as investors continued to monitor developments in the US economy and financial markets.

Silver rose by 52 cents during the day to reach $69.12 per ounce. At the same time, the price of one kilogram of silver moved above $2,200.

As a result, silver reached its highest trading level in nearly two months. The latest increase reflects growing investor interest in precious metals as markets assess the outlook for US monetary policy.

Meanwhile, investors are waiting for the latest US Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) report. Authorities are scheduled to release the report at 3:30 p.m. Erbil time.

The PCE report remains an important indicator for investors because it provides information about inflation and consumer spending. Therefore, markets could react quickly if the figures differ from expectations.

Investors are also focusing on a speech by Kevin Warsh, the president of the US Federal Reserve, at the annual Jackson Hole symposium. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday.

His comments could provide further clues about the Federal Reserve’s future monetary policy. In particular, investors want to know whether the central bank could ease interest rates in the coming months.

Lower interest rates generally support precious metals because they can reduce the opportunity cost of holding assets that do not pay interest. Therefore, any signal of a softer monetary policy could provide additional support for silver.

At the same time, investors continue to assess the US Treasury Department’s decision to double its purchases of long-term government bonds. The move has contributed to a decline in the value of the US dollar.

The dollar recently fell to its lowest level in more than three months. A weaker dollar can make silver more affordable for buyers using other currencies, potentially supporting demand.

Meanwhile, oil prices declined for a third consecutive day. The drop has eased some inflation concerns and provided additional support for silver.

Overall, investors remain focused on US economic data, Federal Reserve policy and movements in the dollar as they assess silver’s next direction.
