Preparations to provide 24-hour electricity in the Raparin Autonomous Administration have reached the final stage. Officials confirmed that, if no technical problems arise, residents across the entire administration will begin receiving uninterrupted power starting tomorrow. As a result, nearly 111,000 subscribers will benefit from the new system, marking a major step toward improving public services and stabilizing the electricity supply.

The 24-hour electricity project continues to expand across the Kurdistan Region. In addition to Raparin, several other areas are preparing to join the full-time power network. These include Koya District, Shaqlawa District, and Pirmam. Around 97,000 subscribers in these districts are expected to benefit from uninterrupted electricity once the system becomes fully operational.

Meanwhile, authorities have already launched the project in multiple districts. These include Said Sadiq, Penjwen, Qaladze, Choman, Khalifan, Rawanduz, Soran (Sidakan area), Mergasor, Akre, and Amedi. Officials stated that they plan to gradually expand coverage until all remaining areas are included under the continuous power system.

Engineer Ali Mohammed, Director General of Raparin Electricity, explained that 34,000 subscribers had already been receiving round-the-clock electricity. If power stations continue operating without disruption, authorities will officially announce full 24-hour service across the administration, extending coverage to an additional 77,000 subscribers.

Officials also urged residents to use electricity responsibly. They advised citizens to check home wiring and electrical devices regularly to avoid short circuits and technical faults. Across residential, industrial, and agricultural sectors, consumers owe about 37 billion Iraqi dinars in unpaid electricity bills. Authorities confirmed that repayment can be made in installments, taking into account each household’s financial situation.
