The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has allocated 850 million dinars for infrastructure projects in Alane village, Soran, focusing on roads, retaining walls, and concrete surfaces. The investment forms part of the Ninth Cabinet’s strategy to drive regional development and stimulate local economic growth.

Additionally, engineers from Soran’s General Directorate of Municipalities oversee the projects and will complete them by next month. The initiative includes asphalt paving of the main road, construction of retaining walls, and concrete surfacing of village alleys.

Therefore, Alane has already undergone significant improvements. Concrete paving covers all internal alleys, while asphalt work continues on the main village road. Residents describe the upgrades as transformative for daily life.

Osman Risha said, ‘KRG has paved road with asphalt, built a hospital, school, and completed irrigation channels and water projects. Everything has improved.’

Village mukhtar Fakhri Shehab added, “All alleys are concreted, asphalt work is ongoing, and more services are being provided. The scale of development here is remarkable.”

Supervising engineer Mustafa Abdullah detailed the project scope: “Works include asphalt, concrete paving, side drainage channels, retaining walls, and irrigation channels. Concrete paving covers 15,000 square meters, while asphalt covers 7,000 square meters.”

Therefore, the Soran administration dedicates 30% of its annual budget to village and rural service projects, ensuring development reaches remote areas.

These infrastructure improvements are part of a broader Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) investment agenda. Since the Ninth Cabinet began, government has launched 733 investment and tourism projects, often in partnership with private sector, to strengthen and expand economic sustainable growth opportunities.

Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment, said, “These projects demonstrate a long-term vision to strengthen the region’s economy and support key sectors.”

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani emphasized that strategic investments in infrastructure are vital for diversifying Kurdistan’s economy and enhancing regional development.
