Salary distribution across Iraq is continuing, while employees in the Kurdistan Region may receive their August salaries next week.
Iraq’s Ministry of Finance began distributing August salaries at the end of working hours on Wednesday, August 26. The ministry has continued the process over the past two days.
Several government institutions have already received their salary allocations. These include the Popular Mobilization Forces, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Water Resources, and Ministry of Agriculture.
Large parts of the Ministry of Interior have also received salaries. In addition, part of the Ministry of Construction and Housing has completed the salary distribution process.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi government is expected to distribute salaries to several other ministries today, Monday. The planned payments include employees at the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Defense.
The ongoing distribution comes as the federal government works through the August salary schedule for state employees.
Employees in the Kurdistan Region are still waiting for their August salaries.
A source at the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Finance said that Iraq’s Ministry of Finance expects to complete its review of the Kurdistan Region’s August salary list within the next two days.
The source added that the federal ministry needs to complete the necessary verification before financing the salaries.
According to the source, the Kurdistan Region could receive funding for its August salaries next week.
Therefore, employees across the Kurdistan Region may begin receiving their August salaries after Baghdad completes the review and financing process.
The timing will depend on the completion of the federal government’s procedures and the transfer of funds to the Kurdistan Regional Government.
