The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Finance and Economy is nearing completion of the August salary list and expects to send it to Baghdad by the end of this week.
The ministry has accelerated work to meet its financial obligations. Accounting units are currently finalizing payroll data for public employees across the Kurdistan Region.
A ministry source mentioned that the payroll system for August salaries has been active for more than a week. Most accounting units have already prepared their lists.
The source said the process is continuing and will likely finish before the end of the week. Once completed, officials plan to send the full salary list to Baghdad for review and funding procedures.
At the same time, efforts continue to secure payment for July salaries.
On August 11, Iraqi Finance Minister Falh Sari told Finance Committee member Danar Abdulghafar that the main problem is a shortage of available cash.
According to the statement, Baghdad faces no other major obstacle to releasing the Kurdistan Region’s July salaries.
Sari said the Finance Ministry will transfer the funds as soon as it gathers enough money to cover the payment. The cash shortage has delayed the process despite earlier expectations that July salaries would be released sooner.
Officials now believe the payment could be made next week if the necessary funds become available. The situation means the Kurdistan Region is preparing the August payroll while employees are still waiting for their July salaries.
The KRG hopes that completing the August list early will prevent further administrative delays once Baghdad begins processing the next salary cycle.
For now, the timing of the July transfer depends on the Iraqi Finance Ministry’s ability to secure enough cash.
Public employees across the Kurdistan Region continue to wait for official confirmation of the payment date.
