The Iraqi federal government is expected to send the Kurdistan Region’s salary allocation within the next two days, according to a member of the Iraqi Parliament’s Finance Committee.
Iraq recently completed the distribution of salaries for federal employees. The Federal Ministry of Finance can now begin procedures to transfer the Kurdistan Region’s salary allocation.
Iklas Dleimi, a member of the Iraqi Parliament’s Finance Committee, said that Kurdistan’s salary payment should arrive soon.
She said the federal government would release the salaries on Sunday or Monday. She added that the payment should reach the Kurdistan Region without further delays.
The Federal Ministry of Finance plans to send around 840 billion Iraqi dinars for the Kurdistan Region’s July salaries this month.
However, the total salary requirement includes another 120 billion dinars. The Kurdistan Regional Government plans to cover this amount through its domestic revenues.
The additional funding forms part of the financial arrangements between Erbil and Baghdad. The two sides have continued discussions over salary payments, oil revenues, and domestic income.
A source at the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance and Economy said that the ministry has completed all preparations for salary distribution. The source said officials will publish the salary schedule as soon as the federal funds reach the Kurdistan Region.
The ministry also expects to complete the distribution process within three days after receiving the funds.
The expected transfer comes after Iraq completed salary payments for its federal employees last Thursday. This allows the Federal Ministry of Finance to focus on the Kurdistan Region’s allocation.
Employees across the Kurdistan Region have faced repeated delays in receiving their monthly salaries. Erbil and Baghdad have worked to establish financial arrangements that can support regular payments.
The latest expected transfer could therefore provide relief for hundreds of thousands of employees, pensioners, and other public-sector beneficiaries.
If the federal allocation arrives as expected, the Kurdistan Regional Government will move quickly to distribute the July salaries. Officials say all administrative preparations are already complete. The remaining step depends on the arrival of funds from Baghdad.
The salary process could begin immediately after the transfer and finish within three days.
