The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Finance and Economy announced that it has submitted the July salary list and the June trial balance report to Iraq’s federal Ministry of Finance in Baghdad.

A technical team from the regional ministry delivered the documents on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. The package included the salary list for public employees and pension recipients across the Kurdistan Region. It also contained the financial review and trial balance report for June.

The ministry said the submission forms part of the regular coordination process between Erbil and Baghdad over public-sector salaries and financial records. Federal authorities will now review the documents through the accounting department of Iraq’s Ministry of Finance.

In a separate note, the regional ministry confirmed that it had restored 981 contract employees to the salary list. All of these employees are over the age of 60.

The ministry added their names following instructions from the finance minister. They will remain in service and continue receiving salaries until the end of 2026.

Earlier, a source at the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance and Economy said that officials had already sent the July payroll list and the June financial review to Baghdad. The source also said the federal ministry would formally receive the documents on Wednesday.

The latest submission represents another step in the ongoing process of securing salary payments for employees and pensioners in the Kurdistan Region. Delays in document transfers and financial reviews have often affected the timing of salary distributions.

The regional government now awaits Baghdad’s response after the federal accounting department completes its review. Employees across the Kurdistan Region will closely follow the process, as the approval and transfer of funds will determine when the government can begin distributing July salaries. Officials did not announce a specific date for starting payments.
