Fly Erbil has strengthened its role as a major regional airline by operating nearly 30 direct flights to Europe each week, offering travelers in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq greater access to international destinations.

The airline continues to operate daily flights to Turkey, particularly to Istanbul, alongside frequent routes to several European countries. Germany remains one of its busiest destinations, while flights also connect passengers to the United Kingdom, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Company officials say Fly Erbil is currently the only airline in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq that provides direct flights to multiple European airports.

On April 27, 2026, Lawand Mamundi, the company’s authorized director, confirmed that operations resumed earlier this month after Iraqi airspace reopened on April 11 following a ceasefire. Since then, the airline has restored its regular flight schedule and maintained consistent service across its key routes.

Mamundi stated that Fly Erbil operates between 10 and 14 weekly flights to Istanbul alone. In addition, the airline now offers close to 30 direct weekly flights from Erbil International Airport to various cities across Europe, marking a significant expansion in its network.

The company has also introduced several service improvements aimed at simplifying the travel experience. Passengers can book tickets through the Fly Erbil mobile application, available on both iPhone and Android devices, or via the official website. Travelers can register their details, complete electronic payments, or choose to pay in cash at ticket offices.

A new payment option allows customers to use “My Account” cards, while the app also makes it easy to cancel bookings if plans change. Refunds are processed directly back to the passenger’s bank account.

Since its launch in 2018 in partnership with UR Airlines, Fly Erbil has steadily expanded and remains the only Iraqi carrier offering daily direct flights to Europe.
