Egg production in Erbil Province continues to grow. As a result, large volumes now supply markets across Iraq. Every month, about 315,000 cartons of eggs from Erbil are shipped to central and southern provinces. This reflects rising demand for agricultural products from the Kurdistan Region.

At the same time, Erbil farms fully meet local needs. Around 75,000 cartons stay inside the province each month. This balance shows strong planning and stable production.

According to officials, Erbil produces nearly 13,000 cartons of eggs every day. Therefore, monthly production reaches about 390,000 cartons. This makes Erbil one of the key egg-producing areas in Iraq. Moreover, the sector supports food security and local employment.

Hemen Sayid Murad, Director General of Agriculture in Erbil, confirmed the figures. He told Ava Media that farms in Erbil produce 390,000 cartons each month. Out of this total, 315,000 cartons of eggs from Erbil are transported to other Iraqi provinces. The remaining cartons supply local markets.

In addition, Erbil has a wide production base. Currently, 570 poultry farms operate across the province. Alongside them, 18 specialized egg production farms focus only on egg output. Together, these farms ensure steady supply throughout the year.

Furthermore, farmers benefit from improved farming methods. Better feed, modern equipment, and veterinary support have increased output. As a result, egg quality has improved. This helps Erbil products compete in central and southern Iraqi markets.

Transport networks also play a key role. Eggs move daily from Erbil to other provinces. This ensures fresh delivery and stable prices. Therefore, traders and consumers rely on cartons of eggs from Erbil for consistent supply.

The agriculture sector in the Kurdistan Region continues to expand. Eggs are not the only product shipped outside the region. Vegetables, fruits, and poultry products also reach other provinces. However, eggs remain one of the most important items due to daily demand.

Officials say supporting farmers remains a priority. The government encourages local production to reduce imports. This policy strengthens the local economy and supports Iraqi food independence.

In conclusion, Erbil has become a major hub for egg production. With 315,000 cartons of eggs from Erbil shipped monthly, the province plays a vital role in supplying central and southern Iraq. The sector shows how local agriculture can meet national needs.
