The e-Psûle digital payment platform has recorded more than 2.2 million electricity payment transactions across the Kurdistan Region.
The Runaki Project team reported the latest figures. Erbil Governorate accounted for the largest share, with 53% of all transactions.
The Kurdistan Regional Government launched e-Psûle as an official digital payment platform for citizens. The government oversees the platform and the Central Bank of Iraq has officially approved it.
The platform allows citizens and businesses to pay electricity bills through several digital payment services. It aims to make payments faster, easier and safer.
According to data from the Runaki Project, more than 400,000 electricity subscribers used e-Psûle during August 2026.
These users benefited from discounts of up to 50% on outstanding electricity debts from before the Runaki project began.
The discount program encourages customers to clear older electricity debts through digital payments. It also supports the government’s wider plan to expand digital financial services across the Kurdistan Region.
The 2.2 million e-Psûle transactions cover all four governorates of the Kurdistan Region.
The figures show the following distribution:
- Erbil: 1.189 million transactions
- Sulaimani: 522,000 transactions
- Duhok: 492,000 transactions
- Halabja: 17,000 transactions
Erbil recorded the highest number of digital electricity payments. Sulaimani and Duhok followed, while Halabja recorded the lowest total.
The figures highlight the growing use of digital payment services for essential public utilities.
The e-Psûle platform forms part of the KRG’s broader digital transformation efforts. At the same time, it supports the Runaki electricity reform project.
Runaki aims to provide continuous electricity across the Kurdistan Region. Digital bill payments can help the government manage electricity revenues more efficiently.
Meanwhile, e-Psûle gives customers a simple way to pay their bills without relying on traditional cash payments.
The platform also brings several payment services together in one system. As digital adoption grows, more residents can manage their electricity payments through their phones and other digital channels.
The latest figures show strong demand for the system. With 2.2 million transactions already recorded, e-Psûle has become an important part of the Kurdistan Region’s digital payment infrastructure.
