The E-Psula Electronic Payment System stopped working for nearly a week across the Kurdistan Region. This outage prevented many citizens from paying public service fees online. Many households could not pay electricity bills through digital platforms during this period.

The Kurdistan Regional Government launched the E-Psula system to expand digital public services. The system allows citizens to pay government service fees through mobile phones or online platforms. Residents usually use the platform to pay electricity bills and other government services quickly.

The outage occurred at a sensitive time for many residents. Thursday, March 12, 2026, marked the final deadline for receiving a 20 percent discount on electricity bills through E-Psula. Because the system stopped working, many residents could not complete their payments before the deadline.

Officials from the Ministry of Electricity of the Kurdistan Region said technical teams are upgrading the system. Engineers are improving the platform to increase speed and stability. The ministry expects the system to restart within the next few days.

Authorities said these updates will improve digital infrastructure and make online payments more reliable. The government wants to encourage more citizens to use digital services instead of visiting payment offices.

Officials also addressed concerns about the electricity discount. Ministry sources said authorities will likely extend the 20 percent discount period. This step will help citizens who could not pay because of the system outage.

However, officials have not announced the exact extension date yet. Authorities plan to release a final decision after the system restarts.

The E-Psula platform plays an important role in modernizing public services in the Kurdistan Region. Many residents rely on the system to complete payments quickly and securely.
