The Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance sent the April salary list and financial reconciliation report to Baghdad. This step opens the official audit process between both governments.

A technical team from the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region delivered the documents to Iraq’s federal Ministry of Finance. This action begins the verification stage between Erbil and Baghdad.

A ministry source said the process starts with checking official documents. After that, the audit will begin once the paperwork review is complete. The source added that the audit could start as early as tomorrow if preparations finish on time.

The technical team will stay in Baghdad during the audit period. They will complete all April salary list verification work there. After finishing the process, the team will return to the Kurdistan Region. Officials say this step ensures transparency and confirms the accuracy of financial records before final approval of salary payments.

On Tuesday, Iraq’s Ministry of Finance announced the release of funds for all public sector salaries. The ministry also instructed all ministries and government departments to begin salary distribution without delay.

This coordination between Erbil and Baghdad comes at an important time. Public employees across the country continue to depend on timely salary payments. Both sides view the submission of documents and the audit process as key steps for financial stability.

Officials expect the audit to continue over the next few days. Both governments aim to complete the process quickly. They want to avoid delays and ensure employees receive their salaries on schedule.
