The Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region is completing the final technical review of the April salary list. Officials confirm that the list will be sent to Baghdad within this week after all verification steps are completed.
On Thursday, the Kurdistan government departments submitted salary data to the relevant treasury offices. Now, only the final checking stage remains before the authorities forward the file to Baghdad for processing and approval.
A source from the Ministry of Finance and Economy said that technical teams will begin reviewing the list on Sunday. Accountants will carefully verify payroll details and correct any errors before uploading the data into the official salary system. After this step, the ministry will transmit the final version to the federal authorities.
The source noted that finishing the review in a single day will be difficult. However, the ministry expects to complete all verification work within the week and then send the finalized list through its technical team to Iraq’s Ministry of Finance.
Officials say the salary list submission represents a key obligation from the Kurdistan Region toward Baghdad. This step allows the release of April salaries for public sector employees. Earlier, the region had already completed and sent the March salary review process.
Negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad continue over non-oil revenues and oil export reporting. Both sides still differ on revenue calculations, which affects monthly budget transfers. Despite these disagreements, officials expect Baghdad to release April salary funds without additional cuts, based on previous agreements.
The salary process remains part of ongoing financial coordination between both governments, especially regarding public payroll management and monthly budget disbursements.
