Today marks the final deadline for salary earners in the Kurdistan Region to register for the MyAccount system.

The MyAccount team has urged employees and other salary recipients to complete their registration before the deadline. It also warned people who have not collected their bank cards to check their mobile phones. They will receive text messages with updates about their cards.

The deadline follows a decision by Iraq’s Ministry of Finance to end cash salary payments from September 1. Therefore, salary recipients who have not completed their registration must finish the process today.

Otherwise, they could face delays in receiving their salaries next month.

A source from MyAccount said that the system will stop cash payments for people who have not registered. The same measure will apply to salary recipients whose bank cards are ready but who have not collected them.

The source said the August salary distribution will also move fully to digital payments. As a result, employees must complete the required banking procedures to continue receiving their salaries.

The MyAccount team stressed that employees can still register today. However, authorities will stop cash salary payments for people who fail to complete registration.

Meanwhile, the distribution of bank cards continues across the Kurdistan Region. Around 30,000 additional bank cards will reach banks over the next two days.

In addition, around 60,000 cards are currently available at banks. Banks are distributing these cards to salary recipients as part of the ongoing process.

The card distribution campaign continues at a rapid pace. Banks are handing thousands of cards to recipients every day.

Only around 50,000 cards remain under production. Officials expect these cards to become available for collection by next week.

The MyAccount system aims to move salary payments toward a fully digital system. The change will also reduce reliance on cash payments and improve the organization of salary distribution.

Salary recipients who have not yet registered should therefore act before the deadline. Completing registration and collecting the bank card will help ensure continued access to monthly salary payments.
