Erbil will host an international construction, energy and infrastructure exhibition later this month. The event will bring together 300 local and foreign companies and investors.

The exhibition will open on August 27 and continue until August 30, 2026. Organizers want to attract more foreign investment to the Kurdistan Region. They also aim to create new business opportunities in several major economic sectors.

Bargasht Akreyi, spokesperson for the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Board of Investment, talked about the event. He said organizers will also hold a conference under the same title during the exhibition.

Around 100 foreign companies and investors will attend the event. Another 200 local companies and investors will also participate.

The conference will focus on construction, energy and infrastructure. These sectors play a very important role in the Kurdistan Region’s development plans.

Officials expect companies to present projects and discuss investment opportunities. They also hope participants will build new partnerships with regional and international businesses.

The Board of Investment wants the event to produce new contracts and memorandums of understanding. Local companies may cooperate with foreign investors on projects inside the Kurdistan Region.

Foreign companies could also enter the Region and invest in major developments. Meanwhile, Kurdish businesses may expand their partnerships and investments into other countries.

Organizers say the exhibition will help investors understand local opportunities, regulations and market conditions. It will also connect private companies directly with government institutions and potential partners.

Officials believe these meetings can support long-term investment, technology transfer and job creation.

By hosting the event in Erbil, the KRG aims to promote the Region as an attractive investment destination. It also wants stronger international cooperation in construction, energy and infrastructure.

Organizers expect the four-day event to generate strong business interest and encourage future commercial partnerships across the Region and abroad.
