Turkey wants to deepen its economic partnership with the Kurdistan Region. Turkish companies continue to play a leading role in investment, trade, and infrastructure. Turkey’s Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Erman Topçu, reaffirmed Ankara’s commitment to expanding cooperation.
Topçu said relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region continue to grow. The partnership covers the economy, security, politics, and culture. He added that strong people-to-people ties remain the foundation of the relationship.
Topçu described Turkey as one of the Kurdistan Region’s most important economic partners. Additionally, he said Turkish companies remain the largest group of foreign investors in the region. They also account for the highest number of registered foreign businesses.
The consul general said Turkish firms have supported the Kurdistan Region’s development for more than 30 years. Their investments have helped rebuild infrastructure, expand housing, strengthen trade, and support other important sectors.
Topçu said the long presence of Turkish companies shows their confidence in the Kurdistan Region’s investment climate. He added that these businesses continue to contribute to economic growth and support new development projects.
He also stressed that cooperation goes beyond investment. Trade between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region remains strong. At the same time, businesses continue to explore new commercial opportunities.
Topçu said Ankara remains committed to strengthening relations with the Kurdistan Region. Turkey also wants to increase trade, investment, and cooperation across every sector. He said these efforts will benefit both sides.
The consul general expressed confidence that the partnership will continue to grow. He expects stronger business ties and closer economic cooperation in the coming years.
Turkey remains one of the Kurdistan Region’s largest trading partners. Turkish companies operate in construction, energy, manufacturing, retail, and infrastructure. These investments continue to create jobs and support economic development.
Topçu said Turkey will continue working with the Kurdistan Region to expand trade and investment. He added that the partnership, built over decades, remains strong and continues to create new economic opportunities for both sides.
