The Kurdistan Regional Government has expanded its digital electricity billing system, known as “E-Psule,” to five new towns in the region. The system now works in Garmian, Derbandikhan, Dokan, Chamchamal, and Said, Sadiq. About 280,000 subscribers will benefit from the service.

The Ministry of Electricity announced the rollout as part of its plan to modernize energy services. Officials said the system replaces manual billing with a faster and easier digital process. Citizens can now receive bills and pay them online without visiting service centers.

Authorities said the expansion follows successful use in other major areas. These include Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, Zakho, Halabja, Raparin, Soran, Koya, and Khabat. Officials reported a strong public response and better efficiency in those regions. This encouraged further expansion to new towns.

The ministry said the platform will unify electricity billing centers across the Kurdistan Region. The E-Pusula system reduces delays and improves transparency. It also makes payments easier through digital tools.

Officials added that the new phase will improve services for households and businesses. Around 280,000 subscribers will now have easier access to billing information. They will also benefit from faster payment options.

The project is part of the wider “Ronaki Project,” launched in November 2024 by Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. The project aims to provide 24-hour electricity across the region by the end of 2026.

The Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers approved the project in May last year. This confirmed long-term support for energy reform and infrastructure development.

Officials said the E-Psule system is an important step in digital transformation. They added that future phases will expand the platform to more areas. This will improve efficiency, reduce costs, and raise service quality across the Kurdistan Region.
