Authorities in the Kurdistan Region confirmed the completion of April salary funding for public employees. As a result, the Ministry of Finance and Economy announced that salary distribution will start tomorrow.

In addition, the Iraqi federal Ministry of Finance transferred a second installment into the Kurdistan Region’s bank account. The total amount reached 961 billion and 736 million Iraqi dinars. Moreover, officials split the transfer into two tranches to fully cover April salaries.

Meanwhile, banking operations have already begun. Financial teams now move the funds through local banking systems. At the same time, they prepare ATM networks to ensure smooth withdrawals. Therefore, employees will access their salaries without major delays.

According to a source from the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance and Economy, banks started processing the transfer immediately. Furthermore, the source confirmed that salary distribution will officially begin on Wednesday. Consequently, employees will receive their payments directly through the “My Account” system.

In total, more than 750,000 public sector workers will receive their April salaries. Once the process is complete, they will withdraw funds from ATMs across the region. Thus, the system ensures direct and efficient access to monthly wages.

However, the ministry also reported a remaining financial gap. Specifically, the federal government has not transferred 16 billion 624 million 814 thousand 472 dinars. This amount covers unpaid entitlements from previous months, including pensions for civilian and military retirees.

Meanwhile, financial coordination between Erbil and Baghdad continues. Both sides are still negotiating budget transfers and payment mechanisms. Nevertheless, the latest funding represents progress in resolving salary delays.

As a result, officials expect smoother processing once banking systems finalize updates. In the coming days, employees should see salaries deposited into their accounts. Therefore, many households will experience financial relief after weeks of uncertainty.

Ultimately, the completion of April funding marks an important step forward. In addition, authorities say they will continue working with Baghdad to improve future payment stability and reduce delays.
