The Erbil Food Distribution Directorate will begin the second round of food aid for 2026 next week. Officials urged registered recipients to complete their registration payments by Thursday. This step ensures that staff can start delivering food packages on time.
Dler Abdulwahid, Director of the Erbil Food Distribution Directorate, said that all items for the second batch are ready in the warehouses. “Only olive oil is in short supply across Iraq, not just in the Kurdistan Region,” he explained. “Once shipments arrive, we will distribute aid to all registered recipients.” Some shipments will arrive today, and others will reach the warehouses over the next few days.
Officials also emphasized that citizens must complete registration payments. Otherwise, they may face delays in receiving their aid.
The directorate uses a fully electronic system. Beneficiaries must collect their funds using a Visa bank card from the Islamic Bank of the South. They should follow the schedule set by the directorate and visit their local office to finalize the process.
Thursday marks the final day for recipients to submit payments. After confirmation, staff will deliver food packages directly to households at the start of next week. This approach ensures that every registered citizen receives aid promptly and fairly.
The food packages include essential items:
- Sugar
- rice
- tomato paste
- olive oil
- pulses
Authorities encouraged citizens to prepare in advance and follow the schedule carefully. In addition, they will monitor deliveries daily to prevent delays or errors. With these measures, the directorate aims to provide efficient, safe, and fair distribution to all eligible households.
