The Ministry of Natural Resources announced that it has distributed more than 120 million liters of kerosene so far. The distribution has benefited more than 600,000 families across the Kurdistan Region. Officials confirmed the figures.

Each winter, the Kurdistan Regional Government launches a kerosene distribution program. The program aims to support families during the cold season. It also helps reduce heating costs. Therefore, it plays a key role in social and economic stability.

Under the program, every family holding a food ration card receives kerosene at a subsidized price. Each family gets 200 liters for 104,000 Iraqi dinars. In comparison, the market price for one barrel of kerosene is nearly 200,000 dinars. As a result, the subsidy offers strong financial relief. Moreover, it protects low- and middle-income households from price fluctuations.

In an official statement, the Ministry said distribution continues in all provinces and autonomous administrations. The process remains active and organized. So far, 601,471 families have received their allocations. In total, authorities have distributed 120,294,200 liters of kerosene. These numbers reflect steady progress across the region.

At the same time, provincial data shows different distribution rates. Sulaymaniyah recorded the highest level of progress. The province also has the largest number of beneficiary families. According to ministry data, the distribution rate in Sulaymaniyah has reached 93 percent.

So far, 245,945 families in Sulaymaniyah have received kerosene. However, some families are still waiting. In the province, 19,525 families have not yet received their share. Officials say teams are working daily to close this gap. Therefore, they expect completion soon.

Meanwhile, the Ministry stressed its commitment to fairness and transparency. It said all eligible families will receive their allocations. In addition, the Ministry highlighted coordination with local authorities. This cooperation helps speed up delivery and resolve logistical issues.

Overall, the kerosene program remains a core winter policy. It ensures stable fuel access. It also supports households during harsh weather. As distribution continues, the government aims to complete the process smoothly and efficiently across all areas.
