Duhok farmers exports continued to grow this year as more local products reached global markets. The Kurdistan Regional Government keeps its focus on helping farmers expand their reach. As a result, a wide range of agricultural products are moving from local fields to international shelves. The total volume shows strong progress for the sector.

The Ninth Cabinet has made agricultural revival a central priority. It supports farmers with programs that improve production and marketing. This support strengthens food security and creates new economic opportunities. Additionally, it helps introduce Kurdish agricultural products to new international buyers. Every month, trucks carry fresh and processed products to cities across Iraq. They also move shipments to neighboring states and global markets. This consistent activity proves that Duhok farmers exports are rising.

According to Duhok’s Directorate of Agriculture, the province exported over 1,661 tons of products in the past 11 months. These goods first enter Turkey. Then they continue on to European markets. Officials say the export flow remains steady and continues to grow each year.

Director General of Agriculture Ahmed Jamil confirmed the numbers. He said the exported items included Kurdish rice, sumac, dried figs, apple jam, and pistachios. These products show the diversity of Duhok’s agricultural potential. They also reflect successful investment in modernizing farming and processing. As global demand increases, Duhok farmers exports demonstrate their ability to meet quality standards.

The statistics highlight the following figures:

  • Kurdish rice: 71 tons
  • Sumac: 1,589 tons
  • Dried figs: 150 kilograms
  • Apple jam: 250 kilograms
  • Pistachios: 1,250 kilograms

Sumac stands out as the largest product exported this year. It shows strong demand from European buyers. The export of rice and processed goods also signals a shift toward more value-added production. Overall, Duhok farmers exports underline continuing growth and wider recognition for Kurdish agricultural products.
