China strengthened its engagement in the Kurdistan Region as a new branch of the Great Wall of China Association began work in Erbil. The launch created a fresh platform that supports China–Kurdistan cooperation, and many regional figures joined the event to show their interest in stronger ties. Chinese representatives also attended the ceremony, and they highlighted the importance of building long-term partnerships.

Chinese officials explained that the association brings together well-known individuals from different sectors in the Kurdistan Region. These individuals understand China, and they support deeper political, cultural, and economic relations. The organizers also stressed that China–Kurdistan cooperation can expand further when influential voices work together in an organized way.

The new branch formed an executive committee with several invited members. Each member begins a two-year term, and they follow a clear set of responsibilities. They plan new initiatives, host events, and help shape the association’s future plans. Every member takes part in preparations for the annual meeting and completes extra duties when needed. Moreover, they work closely with Chinese officials to create useful programs for the community.

The committee also agreed to organize at least two major activities every year. These activities aim to strengthen cultural dialogue, encourage business interaction, and support educational exchange. Many participants believe these events will bring more opportunities for young people in the Kurdistan Region. They also hope the activities will increase understanding between the two sides.

In addition, Chinese representatives encouraged members to focus on economic partnerships. They said the Kurdistan Region offers important investment opportunities, especially in trade, tourism, and technology. Therefore, the new association can play a central role in promoting China–Kurdistan cooperation through direct engagement with businesses and local institutions.

Furthermore, regional figures welcomed the initiative because it creates a formal channel for dialogue with China. They believe the new platform will help both sides share ideas and explore joint projects. Many also noted that stronger relations can support long-term stability and development in the region.

The establishment of the Great Wall of China Association marks an important moment for the Kurdistan Region. It creates new space for collaboration, cultural exchange, and strategic communication. As the committee begins its work, many expect more cooperation between China and the Kurdistan Region in the coming years.
