The Directorate of Electricity Distribution in Slemani has initiated a new phase in its urban energy infrastructure strategy, aiming to expand round-the-clock electricity access. Under this latest initiative, two additional neighborhoods are scheduled to receive continuous electrical service by the end of the week. This development forms part of a broader policy framework designed to transition the city toward full, uninterrupted power coverage.

Beyond enhancing residential energy reliability, the initiative is expected to reduce reliance on private generators. Moreover, a cost-alignment mechanism will be introduced for households consuming less than 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month, enabling them to pay a rate equivalent to that of generator use. This policy adjustment is anticipated to promote a more sustainable and economically efficient electricity consumption model for the population.
