The Ministry of Commerce of Iraq denied reports that farmers in the Kurdistan Region have already spent 126 billion dinars in wheat payments, confirming that it has not disbursed the funds and continues to manage payments carefully.

Nawzad Sheikh Kamel, the ministry’s general director, stated, “This claim has no foundation. The news about spending 126 billion dinars is entirely inaccurate.” He added that the ministry has issued wheat payments to farmers in three separate batches so far.

The first batch delivered 57 billion dinars, the second batch sent 24.25 billion dinars, and the third batch transferred 15.5 billion dinars. In total, farmers have received 96.75 billion dinars so far. The ministry still plans to release the remaining 204.757.591.000 dinars in the coming months.

Nawzad Sheikh Kamel explained that the Kurdistan Ministry of Commerce is actively coordinating with Iraq’s federal Ministry of Commerce to ensure the remaining payments are distributed quickly and correctly. Farmers in Kurdistan will receive their funds on the same schedule as farmers in other Iraqi provinces.

The ministry stages the payments in batches to ensure accuracy, prevent errors, and stop any misuse of funds. Farmers who delivered wheat at the start of the season will receive their full payments once the approval and verification process is complete.

He also urged farmers not to trust social media rumors. Instead, they should rely on official announcements to know exactly when their payments arrive.

The ministry’s coordinated system guarantees transparency and accountability. It ensures farmers in Kurdistan get the support they need without unnecessary delays or misinformation. Officials confirmed that the remaining payments will be disbursed soon.
