The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has started preparing salary lists for June. Currently, financial departments across ministries and government institutions are updating payroll records. As a result, officials expect to complete the process during the coming week.

This step follows a recent agreement between Erbil and Baghdad. Under this agreement, Iraq will transfer salaries for Kurdistan Region employees alongside federal salaries. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance and Economy has instructed all institutions to submit accurate payroll data on time. Additionally, officials want to avoid administrative delays and improve financial coordination.

According to sources within the ministry, accounting units have already completed most of the required updates. Meanwhile, teams continue reviewing employee records and correcting any remaining issues. Consequently, the payroll system should become fully operational within the next few days.

Once the system becomes active, accounting departments will generate the final salary lists. Afterward, they will send the documents to the treasury departments for processing. As a result, authorities hope to complete the next stage quickly and efficiently.

At the same time, officials in Erbil and Baghdad continue to strengthen cooperation on salary payments. Moreover, both governments aim to create a stable and predictable payment process. They also seek to improve transparency and build confidence among public sector workers.

Previously, senior Iraqi officials stressed the importance of paying Kurdistan Region employees on schedule. Furthermore, they emphasized that workers should receive salaries under the same system used across Iraq. They also rejected any attempt to use salary payments as a political pressure tool.

The June payroll process represents another important step toward financial stability. Therefore, public employees across the KRG are following developments closely. Many workers hope the latest agreement will support regular salary payments in the months ahead.

If authorities complete the payroll lists on schedule, treasury departments can begin processing payments without interruption. Consequently, employees may receive their salaries more efficiently. In the long term, better coordination between Erbil and Baghdad could further strengthen the salary distribution system.
