KRG Reports Completion of Over 590 Road Projects, Highlights Major Infrastructure Advancements in 2025

The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Deputy Minister of Reconstruction and Housing, Agrin Abdullah, announced that significant progress has been achieved in the region’s road infrastructure sector during 2025. According to the Ministry, a total of 594 road projects have been finalized, contributing 2,189 kilometers of newly developed or upgraded roadways to public service.

In addition to the completed projects, several key road initiatives are currently underway, with the majority scheduled for completion within the year. Among the priority projects are the Duhok-Ba’adre connection, expected to reduce travel time between Erbil and Duhok by 15 minutes, as well as the Kalak-Bardarash, Akre-Qandil, Kalar-Garmyan, Kore-Shaqlawa, and Erbil-Koya roads.

Deputy Minister Abdullah emphasized that the ninth cabinet has overseen the successful execution of the majority of these projects, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure across the Kurdistan Region.
