As part of a broader strategy to stimulate tourism, the Kurdistan Region is launching a preliminary assessment in early June to facilitate the arrival of tourists from central and southern Iraq. The goal is to ensure that hotels and tour companies are fully prepared for the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.

According to the Kurdistan Region Tourism Board, current conditions are favorable, with substantial tourist activity already underway. Expectations are high for a further increase during the holiday period.

In Erbil, hospitality sector leaders confirm that hotel operations remain steady and the market is performing well. No closures have been reported due to lack of business.

Official statistics indicate that Erbil province is home to 445 hotels and motels, 47 tourist villages, and numerous recreational sites—demonstrating the city’s readiness to accommodate the anticipated influx of holiday travelers.
