The Kurdistan Region solar-powered ATMs program is expanding rapidly. This initiative improves financial services while promoting the use of renewable energy in banking.

Currently, more than 430 solar-powered ATMs operate in cities and district centers across the Kurdistan Region. These machines give residents round-the-clock cash access. This reduces queues, increases convenience, and strengthens local businesses.

The expansion plan is ambitious. The number of machines will reach 1,000 within the next few months. This will bring reliable banking services to rural areas and close service gaps between urban and remote communities.

The project also delivers environmental benefits. By using renewable power, these ATMs reduce reliance on the electrical grid and cut carbon emissions. This shift supports the region’s sustainability targets and ensures dependable performance.

In addition, the system works during power outages. This reliability is crucial for communities where electricity supply can be inconsistent. As a result, both city residents and villagers can withdraw cash anytime.

Improved access to cash helps small businesses operate more efficiently. It encourages local trade, keeps money circulating within communities, and reduces the need for long trips to city banks. For many families, the new ATMs save both time and transport costs.

Future upgrades will expand the services these ATMs offer. Planned features include bill payment options, account inquiries, and other banking transactions. These improvements will create a more modern, inclusive financial network across the region.

By combining renewable energy with advanced banking technology, the Kurdistan Region solar-powered ATMs project strengthens financial inclusion, supports environmental goals, and enhances quality of life. Achieving the 1,000-unit target will mark a significant milestone in the region’s development journey.
