The Erbil Water Network Project is moving steadily toward completion, with major developments happening across key parts of the city. The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism confirmed strong progress in connecting this network to the Erbil Emergency Water Project, which is essential to ensuring continuous water supply.

Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, Sasan Auni, personally inspected the construction progress today. He visited important road zones including Koya, Kirkuk, Mosul Road, Rashkin, and University Street. These areas play a vital role in Erbil’s water distribution system and are critical for the overall success of the project.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has directed the implementation of both the Erbil Water Network Project and the Emergency Water Project. Authorities consider these infrastructure programs strategic for securing long-term water access for Erbil residents and meeting the city’s growing needs.

According to Minister Auni, construction work in the mentioned zones is mostly complete. Teams have finalized extensive work in neighborhoods such as Banaslawa, Mamzawa, Qatawi, Daratu, Baghlumnara, Baghamra, and Zhin. This progress marks a major milestone in improving the city’s water infrastructure.

The Ministry added that workers continue active progress in other areas, maintaining the same strategy and speed. They expect to finish all planned phases within the official timeline, ensuring no delays affect the project’s delivery.

When completed, the Erbil Water Network Project will solve water shortages that have affected households across the city and its outskirts for years. The project not only meets current demand but also prepares for Erbil’s future growth and urban expansion.

This development supports the KRG’s broader plan to modernize municipal infrastructure. Improving access to clean and reliable water remains a top priority, especially in densely populated urban areas where demand is highest.

With steady progress, the Ministry is confident it will deliver this key service upgrade soon. Residents in Koya, Kirkuk, Mosul Road, and nearby neighborhoods can expect a more stable water supply shortly.

Erbil continues to advance toward a more sustainable and resilient urban system. These water projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to practical solutions for everyday needs, improving the quality of life for all residents.
