The Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Region has officially started procedures to prepare 120 billion Iraqi dinars in non-oil revenues. Therefore, the ministry plans to transfer the amount to Baghdad in the coming days to support the payment of February salaries for public employees.

The ministry continues to meet its financial obligations toward civil servants across the region. Earlier, it sent the February salary lists along with the audit balance, also known as the review statement, to Baghdad. Now, officials are focusing on securing the agreed non-oil revenues required under financial coordination between Erbil and the federal government.

According to a source from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, administrative steps to collect and organize the 120 billion dinars have already begun. The source confirmed that the ministry will soon send an official letter to the Central Bank of the Region – Sulaymaniyah branch. This letter will request the transfer of 48 billion dinars as part of the total amount.

Meanwhile, authorities in Erbil and Duhok will provide the remaining 72 billion dinars. Once combined with the 48 billion dinars from Sulaymaniyah, the total will reach 120 billion dinars. After completing these steps, officials will deposit the full amount into the bank account of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance in Baghdad.

On the other hand, a source from the Central Bank of the Region – Sulaymaniyah branch confirmed that preparations are moving forward smoothly. The source stated that once the official request letter arrives from the Ministry of Finance, the bank will immediately begin the transfer process. Officials expect to finalize the entire operation within a few days.

These measures reflect ongoing financial coordination between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad to ensure timely salary payments.
