The Kurdistan Region is taking a major step in renewable energy as a Turkish company moves forward with a 25 MW solar power project in the Kurdistan Region. The company, Hasılı, requested approval to begin work, and the Ministry of Electricity welcomed the plan.
The KRG will provide support, data, and full facilitation to speed up the project. This reflects the region’s growing demand for clean electricity and its strategy to diversify energy sources.
On December 8, 2025, KRG Minister of Electricity Kamal Mohammed Salih met Salahaddin Yildiz, president of Hasılı Company. They discussed technical and administrative requirements for establishing the 25 MW solar power project in the Kurdistan Region. The minister highlighted that attracting foreign investment remains a key priority, especially in sustainable sectors.
The Ministry of Electricity also provided Hasılı with necessary data, guidance, and regulatory information. These resources will help the company start the project efficiently. The ministry believes that successful projects like this will boost confidence among international investors.
Hasılı is a major player in Turkey’s solar sector. The company produces 1,000 megawatts of solar power and holds contracts for another 500 megawatts. Now, it aims to expand its portfolio by investing in the 25 MW solar power project in the Kurdistan Region. This aligns with the KRG’s clean energy goals.
The project will reduce pressure on the region’s power system and cut reliance on fossil fuels. It also strengthens cooperation between the KRG and Turkish companies. The 25 MW solar power project in the Kurdistan Region will create jobs, attract investment, and lay a foundation for future renewable projects. It shows a shared vision for a cleaner, more stable energy future and will likely draw more international interest in the sector.
