The Ministry of Finance of the Kurdistan Region has taken two major steps to enforce the “My Account” system. First, the ministry announced it will withhold January salaries of officials who have not registered in the system. Second, it issued a strict warning to banks, urging them to assist TBI Bank officials in transferring their accounts if needed.

The Minister of Finance and Economy met with the supervisory team of the “My Account” project. The meeting focused on reviewing the final steps of the program and resolving technical issues with banks. The ministry emphasized that all banks must fully comply with the project’s rules to ensure smooth salary transfers.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy confirmed that January salaries will be withheld for officials who are not registered in the “My Account” system or whose bank cards are incomplete or undelivered. The Finance ministry also stressed that no bank is exempt from the project’s requirements. Non-compliance will result in removal from the system.

Over 1,000,000 salary recipients are now registered in the “My Account” system. This month, 700,000 officials will receive their salaries via bank cards. Registration for the families of martyrs and veterans has reached its final stage, with 354,000 people registered. In addition, account activation for farmers has started, enabling them to receive entitlements through bank cards.

A major highlight of the meeting was a stern warning to banks failing to provide proper services, especially TBI Bank, which faces technical issues and limited ATMs. All banks must allow officials to transfer their accounts if needed to ensure uninterrupted salary payments.

The “My Account” project is a national initiative by the Kurdistan Regional Government. It aims to streamline financial operations, reduce cash transactions, and improve salary distribution. Both private and public banks actively participate in the system.
