Kurdistan Region gas production continues to grow in 2025, according to Dana Gas’s mid-year financial report. The UAE-based energy company said daily output in the region reached 500 million cubic feet in the first half of the year. This shows steady growth compared to previous years.

On 10 August 2025, Dana Gas released its report. The company confirmed that production in the Kurdistan Region remains strong and continues to expand. Moreover, the company noted that investment plans are moving forward quickly.

In April and throughout the second quarter, the company carried out essential repair work to maintain operations. However, those repairs are now complete, and production has returned to normal levels. As a result, the company expects higher stability for the rest of the year.

The company also highlighted rapid progress in its Kormor field development project, known as KM250. This project is moving ahead faster than expected and will finish ahead of schedule. Consequently, KM250 will increase the company’s total gas output by 50%. Furthermore, Dana Gas believes this expansion will strengthen its role in meeting regional energy needs.

This year, Dana Gas invested $160 million in the Chamchamal field. In addition, the investment aims to support an initial production target of 75 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The Chamchamal project also forms part of the company’s wider strategy to enhance capacity and secure long-term growth in the Kurdistan Region.

Dana Gas operates in the region alongside five other energy companies. Together with Crescent Petroleum, it owns a 35% stake in the Kormor gas field. The field is located in Kormor village, Qadir Karam, in the Chamchamal district.

With growing investment and faster project timelines, Dana Gas is positioning itself as a key driver of Kurdistan Region gas production. Therefore, the company expects that upcoming developments will not only boost its output but also contribute to the region’s economic growth.

The mid-2025 report reflects Dana Gas’s confidence in the Kurdistan Region’s energy sector. Moreover, continued infrastructure improvements and new production capacity signal a positive outlook for the remainder of the year. As KM250 nears completion, the company aims to secure its position as a leading contributor to Kurdistan Region gas production.
