Erbil government gasoline distribution has expanded, reducing congestion and lowering prices. Governor Nabaz Abdulhamid announced the update on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

He said the number of stations selling government fuel increased from 12 to 32. This change has improved access for residents and shortened waiting times. According to him, Erbil government gasoline now reaches more citizens with better efficiency.

In the past, limited station numbers caused long queues and public frustration. The new approach ensures more equal access to fuel at the official rate. “Our people should receive government gasoline at 750 dinars per liter without difficulty,” the governor said.

Last week, daily deliveries stood at 14 tankers. Now, the administration has increased the figure to 26. The city follows a set schedule for distribution to keep access fair.

Today, 32 stations are offering fuel at 750 dinars per liter. High-quality gasoline prices also dropped to about 885 dinars.

Erbil continues to provide both government and commercial fuel. Commercial gasoline remains available for those preferring premium quality, while government gasoline offers a lower-cost choice. Officials believe the Erbil government gasoline expansion supports both affordability and availability.

Authorities will monitor supply to keep prices stable and prevent shortages. The move is expected to benefit drivers and strengthen the local economy.

By increasing supply and improving distribution, Erbil’s leadership aims to maintain competitive fuel prices and reduce congestion at stations across the city.
