Fly Erbil has suspended its flights until the end of March after Iraqi and regional airspace closed due to ongoing tensions. The disruption has affected many travelers across the region and left passengers searching for alternative routes. To support stranded passengers, the airline is working with UR Airlines to arrange temporary travel solutions and reduce delays.
The two airlines are transferring passengers through Şırnak Airport in Turkey. From there, travelers can continue to European destinations using connecting flights. This solution helps Fly Erbil maintain limited operations despite the restrictions and ensures that some passengers can still complete their journeys.
Fly Erbil said the situation remains outside its control. Despite this challenge, the airline continues to assist passengers and provide flexible options. It has also urged travelers to stay updated through official channels and contact customer service for further guidance.
Fly Erbil has offered three clear options for ticket holders:
- Passengers can change their travel date and destination free of charge for trips scheduled until June 15, 2026. This option allows travelers to reorganize their plans without paying extra fees.
- Passengers can extend their ticket validity beyond June 15 for up to one year. They will only pay any fare difference if ticket prices change during that period.
- Passengers can request a refund through a special voucher code. The code remains valid for one year. Travelers can use it to book a new ticket at any time. If they do not use the voucher within a year, they can request a full cash refund afterward.
Fly Erbil will begin processing these options at the start of April. The airline expects high demand and advises passengers to apply early.
Authorities closed Iraqi airspace on February 28 due to the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. As a result, airlines across the country have suspended all flights.
