Authorities in Erbil Governorate have implemented several major healthcare projects worth more than 36 billion Iraqi dinars. Officials funded these projects through the governorate’s budget and carried them out under the direction of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. The plan focuses on improving healthcare services and expanding medical access across the region.

Erbil Governorate launched a wide campaign to develop the healthcare sector. Officials invested more than 7 billion dinars in renovating hospitals and building new health centers. These efforts aim to modernize facilities and improve service quality for residents.

The projects include upgrades to major hospitals. These facilities include Erbil Teaching Hospital, Emergency Hospital, and Raparin Pediatric Hospital. Renovation work also covered hospitals in towns such as Pirmam, Shaqlawa, and Harir. At the same time, authorities built 11 new health centers in different areas. These areas include Qushtapa, Bnaslawa, and Ankawa. These centers help residents access care near their homes.

According to an official statement from Erbil Governorate, these projects follow direct instructions from Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. Many strategic healthcare projects have been completed or are still under construction during the ninth cabinet. The main goal is to provide high-quality medical services to all citizens.

Several large projects remain in progress. These include a 200-bed psychiatric hospital in Erbil, with a budget of 10 billion dinars. Another key project is Bahrka Hospital, which costs 6 billion dinars. In addition, a 50-bed hospital in Qushtapa has a budget of 5 billion dinars. Authorities are also building a 50-bed emergency hospital in Bahrka, costing about 3.5 billion dinars.

These investments show a strong commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure. They also aim to meet growing demand for medical services. By expanding hospitals and clinics, Erbil seeks to ensure better healthcare access, support public health, and improve the overall quality of life for its population.
