The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Media and Information Office announced the resumption of electricity bill payments through the electronic system (E-Psula). It also confirmed that the digital platform is now open again for citizens across the region.

The announcement stated that the payment process has restarted after completing the transfer of subscriber data into the new billing system. Authorities said this step ensures smoother operations and more accurate billing for electricity users.

Officials explained that the new billing system for the Ministry of Electricity forms part of the broader “Light Project.” The project aims to improve public services and modernize revenue collection. It also focuses on speeding up procedures and making electricity services easier for subscribers across the Kurdistan Region.

Authorities said the digital system helps organize payments more efficiently. It reduces manual procedures and improves transparency in electricity billing. Officials also expect it to simplify the payment process for citizens and reduce delays in service delivery.

The “E-Psula” project was first announced in February by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. The system allows electricity subscribers to pay their bills digitally through modern electronic platforms. The Central Bank of Iraq has approved the program.

Officials encouraged citizens to use the system for easier access to services and updated information. They also directed users to visit the official website epsule.gov.krd for further details and assistance.

The government said the relaunch marks an important step toward digital transformation in public services. It also reflects efforts by the Kurdistan Regional Government to modernize infrastructure and improve efficiency in the electricity sector across the Kurdistan Region.

In addition, officials noted that expanding digital payment systems could reduce congestion at service offices and improve overall customer satisfaction. They added that continued upgrades to the platform are expected in the coming months to support higher user demand and ensure more stable service performance across urban and rural areas.
