Norwegian oil and gas company DNO said oil production in the Kurdistan Region rose sharply in the fourth quarter of 2025. Higher output from the Tawke oil field drove the increase. The field is located in Duhok province.

In a statement, DNO said average production reached 77,268 barrels per day in the final quarter of 2025. This was a strong rise from 46,572 barrels per day in the third quarter. Production increased by 30,696 barrels per day in three months.

Therefore, the company also reported yearly growth. In the fourth quarter of 2024, DNO produced 74,163 barrels per day in the Kurdistan Region. Output therefore rose compared to both the previous quarter and the same period last year.

Additionally, DNO said it recovered 20,019 barrels per day as its financial entitlement share during the quarter. The company sold its share of oil from the Tawke license to local buyers. It received all payments before deliveries. This move improved financial stability.

Furthermore, the company confirmed it will release its full operating and interim financial results on February 5. The report will cover the fourth quarter of 2025.

DNO recently reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Kurdistan. It described the Region as a core part of its operations. At an event marking 500 million barrels produced since 2004, Executive Chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani spoke about the partnership. He said DNO wants to remain strongly involved. He also praised Kurdistan’s contractual stability and investor-friendly environment.

Oil infrastructure across the Region faced repeated drone and missile attacks in 2025. Despite this, DNO said it plans to expand operations. In late December, the company resumed drilling at its flagship Tawke license.

This followed a September agreement between Erbil, Baghdad, and international oil companies. The deal allowed oil exports to resume through the Iraq–Turkey pipeline. Exports had stopped in March 2023.

Kurdistan Regional Government officials said they delivered about 22 million barrels of oil to SOMO for export. They also said nearly $214 million was paid to oil companies. The payments covered production and transportation costs.
