The Kurdistan Regional Government will begin distributing contract teachers and employees salaries early next week. Officials confirmed that payments will start after authorities complete the salary distribution for regular public employees.

The government has already continued the January salary process for public sector workers. Now, it is preparing to issue teachers and contract employees salaries between Sunday and Monday.

A total of 37,933 teachers from the Ministry of Education receive their salaries from domestic revenues. In addition, 4,100 lecturers from universities and institutes under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research also depend on internal revenues.

Moreover, several contract employees working in government institutions receive payments from the same source. Each month, authorities distribute teachers and contract employees salaries after they finalize payments for regular public workers.

This system ensures that core government staff receive their salaries first. Then, officials move forward with teachers and contract employees salaries.

A source from the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance and Economy confirmed the timeline to Ava. The source stated that contract employees’ salaries will be distributed next week, specifically between Sunday and Monday.

Therefore, thousands of educators and contract workers can expect payments at the start of the week.

Iraq’s Ministry of Finance transferred 931 billion and 257 million dinars for January salaries. The funds went directly to the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance and Economy bank account.

The salary distribution process has continued for two days. Authorities expect it to conclude on Saturday. After that, they will begin issuing teachers and contract employees salaries.

In summary, teachers and contract employees salaries will arrive early next week once the public employee payment process ends.
