Authorities have announced new pricing and operating schedules for private neighborhood generators for April in several areas of the Kurdistan Region. Officials in Erbil, Duhok, and the Soran administration have already finalized their plans, while Sulaymaniyah is expected to confirm its rates and schedule on Tuesday.

Khoran Khorani, head of the Private Generator Owners Association, said the April plan includes 300 hours of electricity supply. Officials set the price at 15,000 Iraqi dinars per ampere in many areas. He added that authorities will compensate households that received fewer hours of electricity in March by adding extra supply time in April.

In Duhok, the local committee has set a lower rate. Mohammed Bekhal, head of the generator committee, confirmed that residents will pay 12,500 dinars per ampere. Generators will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and resume service from midday until 2:00 a.m. the next day. Officials say this schedule aims to balance demand between households and businesses.

The Soran administration has introduced a different pricing model and schedule. Qani Latif, head of the local generator committee, said operators will charge an advance payment of 7,000 dinars per ampere. Generators will supply electricity to homes from 2:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. For markets and businesses, generators will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participation in the system remains optional for residents.

Meanwhile, officials in Sulaymaniyah have not yet finalized their plan. Fazil Mohammed, a representative of private generator owners, said authorities will meet with the provincial administration on Tuesday to agree on pricing and schedules. Until then, generators continue to operate from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. when national electricity is unavailable.

These new measures aim to regulate electricity supply, stabilize prices, and ensure consistent service for residents during April.
