The Kurdistan Regional Government has launched a new policy to improve energy infrastructure and support long-term development. Under this decision, 24-hour national electricity will be a required feature in all upcoming housing and infrastructure projects across the Kurdistan Region.

For years, residents have faced inconsistent electricity service. Power cuts have affected homes, disrupted businesses, and limited investor interest. To solve these problems, the government is now making continuous electricity supply a basic condition for all future developments.

In practical terms, no project will be approved unless it connects to the national electricity grid with full capacity. This applies to new residential areas, commercial zones, and public infrastructure. As a result, both urban centers like Erbil and rural towns will benefit from more reliable power.

Furthermore, the decision aligns with a broader government strategy to modernize the region. New power generation facilities and grid improvements are underway. These investments will support the growing demand for 24-hour national electricity as the region continues to expand.

The policy also aims to attract private sector investment. Companies often choose locations based on the reliability of essential services. Therefore, by guaranteeing 24-hour national electricity, the Kurdistan Region strengthens its position as a destination for economic growth.

Public response has been largely positive. Many citizens see this as a long-overdue step toward better infrastructure and living conditions. With more stable electricity, residents can rely less on private generators and enjoy improved services in health, education, and transportation.

In conclusion, the government’s move to enforce 24-hour national electricity in all new projects reflects a serious commitment to development, sustainability, and public welfare. It marks a key milestone in the Kurdistan Region’s path toward stronger infrastructure and a better quality of life.
