The 24-hour electricity project is expanding quickly across the Soran area. In the coming days, 49,000 subscribers in five districts and 13 subdistricts will receive uninterrupted power. With this step, the Runaki Project will cover the entire Soran Independent Administration.

Within the next six days, residents in Choman, Sidakan, Rawanduz, Khalifan, and Mergasor will receive round-the-clock electricity. Hundreds of villages in these areas will also join the 24-hour electricity network. As a result, families and businesses will no longer depend on private generators.

At the same time, Said Sadiq will receive 24-hour electricity this week. In Akre district, technical teams are preparing dozens of neighborhoods in the city center to connect them to the new system.

Moreover, starting next month, all subscribers in these areas will pay their bills digitally through the e-Psula system. The Kurdistan Regional Government has expanded digital services in recent months. Now, electricity subscribers will benefit from easier and faster payments. This move will reduce paper billing and improve service efficiency.

Furthermore, engineer Aram Fuad, Director of Akre Electricity, confirmed that eight Runaki Project teams have started implementing 24-hour electricity in central Akre. He explained that work continues daily to complete the network upgrades and technical installations.

In addition, authorities expect that within one month, the entire center of Akre district, along with its subdistricts and surrounding villages, will join the 24-hour electricity system.

So far, 80% of the Kurdistan Region has access to 24-hour electricity. The original plan aimed to complete the project by the end of this year. However, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani recently announced that the project is moving faster than expected. Therefore, officials now expect full completion by mid-year.

The expansion of 24-hour electricity across Soran and Akre marks another major step toward stable and reliable power services across the Kurdistan Region.
